WhaleCoast has been a big fundraiser for AUUF for many years. There are 2 tours of about 40 people each, one in June and another in early July. Anchorage UUs host tourists in their homes, providing bed and breakfast with Alaskan hospitality. AUUF provides meeting space for the group for the few days they are here and provides a banquet with entertainment for each tour. The tour will pay our fellowship $96 per person per night, plus a per-person stipend for the banquets. We make over $20,000 for this event, significantly helping our Operating Budget. We get to meet some very nice UU travelers and show off a bit of our state to them.

  • THE FIRST TOUR WILL BE IN ANCHORAGE JUNE 10th-12th and the 14th-15th

  • THE SECOND TOUR WILL BE IN ANCHORAGE JULY 12th-14th

  • BANQUETS FOR EACH 40-GUEST TOUR AT AUUF: JUNE 11th- and JULY 14th

Maya Kaup, who attends the Anchorage Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, is currently the statewide WhaleCoast Tour Director.
Peggy Robinson is the AUUF coordinator.

Here are ways AUUF members and friends can be involved:

1. Host one or more guests in your home

2. Offer to coordinate one or both banquets

3. Help with the banquets (preparation, cooking, cleanup, entertainment)

4. Volunteer to drive guests to their destinations while they are in Anchorage

If a tour is not sold out, you might be able to join in part from Anchorage. Please call or text Maya if you’re interested in this: 707-599-6984, or email whalecoastak@gmail.com. To view the complete tour itinerary for each tour, visit www.WhaleCoastAK.org.

Important COVID-19 Information for the WhaleCoast Tours:
WhaleCoast Alaska will require all guests to be fully vaccinated (including boosters) for Covid-19 in order to participate in one of the tours. Hosts should plan to get vaccinated well ahead of the tour dates. We will also require banquet helpers and home-stay hosts (and their household members) be fully vaccinated.
